Global Infrastructure
The Prop Pit operates trading infrastructure across three global regions — North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Each region runs two backup proxy nodes (6 servers total) to ensure uptime and low-latency order routing.
When you connect via Pit Trader, your client automatically determines the closest region and routes your connection there. No manual configuration is needed.
Server Regions
| Region | Location | Nodes | Primary Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| North America | Ohio, USA | 2 | Americas-based traders |
| Europe | London, UK | 2 | EMEA-based traders |
| Asia Pacific | Tokyo, Japan | 2 | APAC-based traders |
Each region runs two independent proxy nodes for failover. If one node goes down, traffic is automatically rerouted to the backup within the same region.
How Automatic Routing Works
Pit Trader uses latency-based routing to determine the best connection for your session:
- When Pit Trader starts, it measures the round-trip time to each region.
- The region with the lowest latency is selected automatically.
- If your primary region becomes unavailable, Pit Trader fails over to the next-closest region.
This happens transparently in the background — you do not need to configure anything. The system ensures you always get the fastest possible connection to our infrastructure.
Using a VPN is not recommended for trading. Pit Trader automatically routes your connection to the closest server location. A VPN adds an extra network hop, which increases latency and can result in slower order execution. If you have a legitimate need for a VPN, see our VPN & VPS policy.
Optimizing Your Latency
- Use a wired connection — Ethernet is more stable and lower latency than Wi-Fi.
- Close unnecessary applications — Bandwidth-heavy apps (streaming, downloads) compete for network resources.
- Avoid VPNs — They add routing hops that increase latency unnecessarily.
- VPS for automation — If running bots, consider a VPS in the same AWS region as your nearest server for the lowest possible latency.
